🚨 What You'll Need
- Memory Requirements: While SkyFactory 4 isn't the largest modpack ever, you'll at least need 4GB of RAM minimum to run the server. If you want to have modifications or have more than just a few people on at once, you'll need to upgrade to 6GB.
- Modpack Compatibility: Ensure you have the version of Skyfactory 4 that is compatible with your server installed on your CurseForge app/launcher. Here is a guide on getting modpacks via CurseForge
🚨 Before You Start
1. Backup Server: You'll want to make a backup of your current server before proceeding. To learn how to backup your server, visit our guide on 💡 How To Backup Your Minecraft Server
2. Have Enough RAM: Make sure your server has at least 4GB of RAM to start your SkyFactory 4 server. Less than that and your server will not start. More players on the server means you might need even more RAM. We have a RAM calculator that can help you see how much RAM you need. SkyFactory4 is considered a small-sized modpack.
3. Install Correct Version of Skyfactory: Check that you've got the version of Skyfactory that is compatible with your server setup. If you do not see the most updated version of the Modpack in our installer, feel free to reach out to our Support Team and they'll be happy to assist getting the version of the Modpack you're looking for installed on your server.
🖥️ Installation
1. Head to the Control Panel:
- Log into your server's control panel and navigate to the Modpack tab of the Control Panel.
⚠️ If there are any Modpacks currently installed, you'll need to unistall them by clicking the "Uninstall Button" on the modpack that is currently loaded. This is displayed towards to center of your screen.
2. Installing Skyfactory4 through the Control Panel Installer.
- Navigate to the "ModPack" section of the Control Panel then from there search for "SkyFactory4" or pick it from the front page if it’s there.
- Choose the most updated version of the Modpack in the Installer.
- Click the "Install" button and confirm you want to install SkyFactory.
- The installer will begin installing the modpack on your server, once it's complete the page will auto-refresh.
- Once the installer is complete, head over to the "Console" tab in your Control Panel and start the server. Give it some time to load as there is a lot of files being installed.
Downloading SkyFactory 4 from an installer
Select the browse tab in Curseforge and type in SkyFactory 4 in the search bar
Click "Install" and wait for the installation to be complete.
You may need to increase the RAM usage since it is a larger modpack
To increase the local RAM, go back to your "My Modpacks" tab and right-click, then select "Profile Options"
Uncheck the "Memory Settings" box and select the amount of RAM you would like to allocate. ~1000MB = 1GB
With that, you're finished! Play Minecraft using the Prominence II modpack in CurseForge. Then, from the main menu, join the server just like you would any other Minecraft server. You can find your IP server address on the "Console" page in the control panel.
