Uploading a Bedrock (or Windows Edition) Minecraft world requires different steps than a traditional Java Edition World. Here is a complete guide on uploading a Minecraft Bedrock World to your server.
Step 1: Finding Your Single-Player World
To upload a Bedrock world to your SimpleGameHosting server, you will need a .mcworld
file. You can get this file from one of your single-player worlds by following these steps:
1. Open Minecraft Bedrock and click the Play button on the main menu. This will take you to the Worlds screen, where all of your single-player worlds are listed.
2. Find the world you want to upload and click the ✏️pencil icon next to it. This is the Edit button.
3. On the next screen, adjust any settings if needed. Then scroll down and click the Export World button near the bottom.
4. You will be prompted with a few options. You can skip these and just click Export.
5. Save the file to your Desktop so it’s easy to find when you're ready to upload it to your server.
Step 2: Turning the Server Offline
We can now access the SimpleGameHosting Control Panel and navigate to the Console tab.
1. Login to the Control Panel, and select the server that you want to upload your world to.
2. Head to the Console tab and press the Stop button to turn the server offline.
Step 3: Uploading the World to Your Server via SFTP
We can now add your world to the server. To do this, we will be using SFTP. This ensures that we can upload the entire world without any issues.
Finding Your SFTP Login Info
Once you have your FTP client, we can get the login details. These can be found in the SimpleGameHosting control panel.
1. Be sure the server is offline. Then click SFTP in the menu bar.
- This will show you your server address and username for SFTP. We will use these in the next step.
Logging Into Your Server via SFTP
The easiest way to connect is by using the Quickconnect feature in FileZilla.
1. Open FileZilla and enter the following using your SFTP details:
- Host: (your server address from your SFTP page)
- Username:
- Password: (same as your control panel password)
💡Note: Leave the port section blank, it'll auto fill once you connect.
2. Confirm the information you entered is correct and then press the Quickconnect button to the right to connect.
- If a popup appears mentioning an "Unknown host key," that's normal and just click OK to continue.
3. Once you're connect to your server, you should see your server files show up in the right hand windows of the FilzeZilla app.

Uploading Your Minecraft World to the Server
1. Once you've connected to your server using SFTP, open the worlds folder.
2. From here, open the Bedrock level folder, and delete all of the files and folders inside of it.
👋Note: This will remove any current world uploaded to your server. Be sure to create a backup on the SimpleGameHosting Panel and lock it if you wish to keep the world.
3. Now, drag your .mcworld
file into the bedrock-level folder.
4. Once the upload finishes, head back to your SimpleGameHosting panel and go to the File Manager page and Open the worlds folder.
5. Then open the bedrock-level folder where you uploaded the file.
6. Find the .mcworld
file you just uploaded, click the three dots next to it, and select Unarchive. This will extract the world files and make it ready to use on your server.
Step 4: Restarting & Joining Your Server
Finally, navigate back to the Console tab in the Control Panel, and Start or Restart your server. When you do, your single-player world will be updated to your server.
You can join your server, and your world will be there!
