Respawning The Ender Dragon
Resetting the end will not respawn the ender dragon. In order to respawn the ender dragon, you must use end crystals after defeating the first ender dragon.
Step One: Getting End Crystals
To get started, you will need four end crystals in order to respawn the ender dragon. You can craft these by using glass, an eye of ender, and a ghast tear.
Step Two: Respawning The Dragon
Once you have four end crystals, return to the end, and place them around in the middle of each side of the portal. You can see the configuration in the screenshot below.
Make sure you are ready to fight the ender dragon when you do this as you will need to defeat the ender dragon for the portal to respawn.
It's also worth noting you will only get 500XP for defeating the ender dragon a second time versus the 12,000 you get the first time you defeat the dragon.
Resetting The End Dimension on Vanilla & Modded Servers
Resetting the end dimension is not generally something you will need to do on your server. It will NOT respawn the ender dragon, and it can leave the end dimension broken with no ender dragon.
With that being said, if you do want new end cities or other world generation in the end, you can reset the end to do so.
It is also possible to make a portal manually using the same layout as above and placing the bedrock around 0 ~ 0 coordinates in the end and respawning the dragon with end crystals, but this can be tricky and require some trial and error.
⚠️ Note: You will want to backup your Minecraft server before resetting the end dimension This is due to end resets commonly breaking the end dimension.
Step One: Login to Your Control Panel
The first step is to login to your control panel and stop your server. On the Console tab click the "Stop" button to stop your server.
Then, make your way to the File Manager tab.
Step Two: Navigate to your World Folder
Once in the file manager, locate the world folder and open it by clicking on it.
Step Three: Delete the Dimension Folder
Once in the world folder, locate the DIM folder, click the three dots, and click delete.
You're done! Start your server back up using the "Start" button on the Console tab, and the End will be reset!
Resetting The End on Paper/Purpur Servers
Just like vanilla and modded servers, resetting the end will NOT reset the ender dragon, and it can leave the end dimension broken with no portal.
We recommend backing up your server before resetting the end as it is very likely the end will break when resetting it.
Step One: Login to Your Control Panel
The first step is to login to your control panel and stop your server. On the Console tab click the "Stop" button to stop your server.
Then, make your way to the File Manager tab.
Step Two: Delete the world_the_end
In the file manager, locate the "world_the_end" folder. Deleting this folder will reset the end dimension on your server.
You're done! Start your server back up using the "Start" button on the Console tab, and the End will be reset!
