How To Install Forge on a Minecraft Server

Forge is the most popular mod loader for Minecraft. This is probably why you're wondering how you can add Forge to your Minecraft server on SimpleGameHosting. Well, let's jump on into it. 

⚠️ Note: You may want to backup your Minecraft server before installing Forge, so you don't accidentally lose data you don't want to lose.

Step 1: Accessing the Control Panel

With your server purchased and the appropriate amount of RAM selected, we can move to adding the modpack to your server. Luckily, this can be done in just a few clicks. 

First things first, you will need access the SimpleGameHosting Contol Panel. Then, login to your account.

Step 2: Installing Forge on Your Server

Before getting started, ensure your server is offline. Log into your server's control panel, go to the Console tab, and press the Stop button.

1. Go to the Modpacks & Versions tab, then click the Version Manager subtab.

2. From the dropdown list, select Forge. The page will refresh to show the available Forge versions.

3. Find the version you want to install, then click Install, confirm your selection, and Wait for the installation to finish.

Step 3: Activiating Forge on Your Server

Once installed, return to the Console tab and press Start to launch the server. If everything is set up correctly, the server should come online with Forge installed.

Step 4: Joining Your Server

Your server is now ready to join! Just make sure you're launching Minecraft with the same version of Forge used on the server. Using a different game version or mod loader can cause connection issues.

Also, ensure that any mods installed on the server are also installed on your client. Otherwise, you may not be able to connect properly.

To join, copy your Server Address from the top right corner of the Console tab in your control panel, then paste it into the server address field in Minecraft’s Multiplayer menu.
