In this quick guide, we are going to be showing you how to install a specific version of NeoForge on your Simple Game Hosting Minecraft server!
Step 1: Login To The Control Panel
First off, you will need to login to the SimpleGameHosting Control Panel.
Step 2: Locate the Settings Tab
It should be in the top row of tabs, second from the right.
Step 3: Locate the Neoforge Version Box
Scroll down in the settings tab until you locate this box. If you don't see it, refer to the bottom of this guide to get it installed on your server.
Step 4: Locate the Version You Wish to Install
You can find the versions list here on the official Neoforge site. For this example, we will be using 21.4.136.
Step 5: Install the Version
Head back to your panel and type in the version, then hit reinstall.
Step 6: Remove the Old Neoforge Version
Unfortunately the old version of neoforge likes to stick around, so we'll need to remove it.
In the file manager, you should see a folder called libraries, go ahead and open it.
Then, find the net folder and open it.
Locate the neoforged folder.
Then finally, the neoforge folder.
In here there may be two folders, one being the version you just installed (in this case, 21.1.136), and an older version. Click the 3 dots on the old version then hit delete.
You're good to go! You can now start the server with the correct version installed! If you have issues feel free to reach out to us via Live Chat to get things working!
Optional Step: If the Neoforge Box Doesn't Appear
If the neoforge box isn't appearing in the settings tab, you may just need to install an version in the versions tab. Here is how to do that!
- Login to the SimpleGameHosting Control Panel.
- Select the server you want to add Forge to.
- Navigate to the “Modpacks & Versions” section in the menu bar.
- Find the "Version Manager" sub tab.
- Click the "Version Selector" drop-down and select "Neoforge".
- Locate the Minecraft version you want to install Forge for and click the "Install" button under it.
- A box will appear warning you that some files will be deleted when you install Neoforge. Consider backing up your server before adding Forge if you don't want to lose data.
- Click the "Install" button to install Forge on your Minecraft server. You will get a "Version changed successfully" message once it is complete.
