🛠️ Setting Up & Joining Your Server

Step 1: Choose and Install Your Minecraft Version

🛑 Before you start, select the version of OneBlock you wish to use. After choosing, make sure to set up your server with the compatible version.

1. Go to your server's control panel

  • On your server's control panel, navigate to the Console tab and ensure the server is turned offline if it isn't already.

2. Uninstall any current versions

🛑 If there are no Versions or Modpacks installed on the server, skip to Step 3.

  • Navigate to the Modpacks tab on your control panel for your server, then the Version Manager tab. Click the red uninstall button on the current version then press Yes on the popup.

3. Clear all server files

  • Go to the File Manager tab, select all files, and delete them. You can select all the files using the checkbox at the top left of this page

4. Install Vanilla Minecraft

  • Navigate to the Modpacks tab, then the Version Manager tab. In the Version Manager, choose Vanilla from the dropdown then install 1.21.3 (or your desired version).

5. Run the server once.

  • Head back to the Console tab of your server's control panel and start the server, let it boot up all the way, and then turn it back offline.

6. Delete the world folder.

  • In the File Manager tab, find the folder named 'world' and delete it.

Step 2: Download and Set Up OneBlock

🛑 Before moving forward, make sure you have a file compression tool like 7-Zip installed. You’ll need it to extract the folder required for setting up your server with OneBlock.

1. Download OneBlock

  • Find the version that is compatible with your server and download the OneBlock world file to your computer. Once you've located the version compatible with your server, click the three dots next to the file and select Download File.

2. Extract and rename the OneBlock file

  • After downloading the OneBlock world file, it will be in a .zip format. Move it to your computer's desktop for easy access. In most cases, the file will be located in your computer's Downloads folder
  • Right-click the OneBlock .zip file, hover over 7-Zip, and select Extract Here to extract the folder directly to your desktop.
  • Right-click the OneBlock world folder on your Desktop, select "Rename," and change the folder name to 'world' (all lowercase).
  • Right-click the renamed world folder, hover over 7-Zip, and select Add to 'world.zip'. This will create a compressed version of the world folder for transferring to your server.

🛑 After extracting, renaming, and compressing the new world folder, you can safely delete the original .zip file you downloaded.

3. Connect to your Server using SFTP

👋Here's a guide on How To Use SFTP to Connect to a Minecraft Server

  • Drag and drop the compressed folder you created earlier from your Desktop into the server window in FileZilla. Monitor the progress at the bottom left and wait for the upload to complete.

5. Unarchive the OneBlock world on your server

  • After the world transfer is finished, go to your server's control panel and open the File Manager tab.Locate the world.zip folder you uploaded, click the three dots to the right, and select Unarchive from the options.
  • Once you click Unarchive, a new folder named 'world' will appear in your File Manager. This is your unarchived world!
