How To Enable Command Blocks on a Minecraft Server

Turning on command blocks allows you to use powerful in-game commands for automation, custom features, and mini-games on your Minecraft server. Below are two simple ways to enable command blocks so you can start using them.

Option 1: Editing the Server's Settings

To start, you’ll need to log in to the SimpleGameHosting Game Control Panel. If you haven’t done this before, we have a full guide that walks you through the process step by step.

1. Head to your server’s Settings tab  and scroll down until you see the Enable Command Block option.

2. Switch it on so it turns green, then hit Save Changes. When the confirmation popup appears, click Save and Restart to apply the changes.

Option 2: Accessing the File Manager in the Control Panel 

To start, you’ll need to log in to the SimpleGameHosting Game Control Panel. If you haven’t done this before, we have a full guide that walks you through the process step by step.

1. Once you have logged in, select the server you want to enable command blocks.

2. Then, click on the File Manager tab in the menu bar. This is where all of your server's files and folders can be accessed.

3. Find the server.properties file and click on it to open it and start editing the file.

4. Locate the enable-command-block setting.

5. Change this setting to enable-command-block=true

6. Click the Save Content button to save the change you just made.

7. Go back to the Console tab on your panel page, then hit Restart button.
