How to Change the View Distance or Render Distance on Your Minecraft Server

Here's a quick guide on how to change the View Distance of your SimpleGameHosting Minecraft Server. 

🛑 NOTE: The max view distance is 32 for Java Edition and 92 for Bedrock/Windows Edition. This will affect server performance significantly on lower RAM packages due to the increase of resources required to render chunks. 

1. Access your SimpleGameHosting Panel and click on the "File Manager" tab in the menu bar.

2. Open the "server.properties" file.

3. Find the "view-distance=" setting and change the number there. 

   1. Java Max: 32
   2. Bedrock Max: 92

4. Save the file with the "Save Content" button.

5. Return to the "Console" page in the menu bar, and click the "Restart" button to activate the new view distance!
