How to Add Sub-Users to Your Minecraft Server

Adding sub users to your server is a powerful way to allow multiple people of your choosing to have specific controls over your server. This can be useful if you are running a community server with several owners and you want them all to have access to the server panel for administration duties, or you can just do it to let your friend control your server!

Either way, below we have a full guide to adding sub users to your server!

Step 1: Logging Into The Control Panel

To start, you'll first have to be logged into the control panel.

Once you're logged in, go ahead and select the server that you want to add a sub user to.

Step 2: Click On The Users Tab

Once you have selected your server, you'll see a bunch of tab buttons near the top of the page. Click on the one named "Users" to head to the sub users section of the panel.

Step 3: Add A Sub User

Click on the purple "New User" button on the bottom right to start creating a new sub user.

This will open a window on the page that allows you to pick the email of the person you want to allow to be a sub-user and manage their permissions

Go ahead and type in their email in the "User Email" box at the top so they can get invited to your panel. Below that you can also edit the specific permissions you want them to have when they get access to your panel. Once you go through and select all the permissions you want them to have, click the "Invite User" button at the top right.

Step 4: Let The Sub User Open The Email And Make Their Account

When you make the new user, the email address you entered will get a new email telling them to setup their SimpleGameHosting panel account. It'll look like this.

Make sure that whoever you sent the email to clicks on the button that says "Setup Your Account". Without this account they won't be able to manage your server at all!

From here they will type in whatever password they wish to use to access the panel in both the "New Password" box and "Confirm New Password" box. Then click the "Reset Password" button.

Once they do this, they will be logged into the panel and can access your server with the permissions you set up for them!

Step 5: Manage Sub Users

If you forgot to change the sub user's permissions earlier, or just wanted to edit them for any reason, you can click on the little pencil to the right of the newly created user to edit their permissions.

You can also delete the user and revoke their permission to access your server by pressing the trash can to the far right.
