This guide will walk you through adding data packs to your Simple Game Hosting Minecraft server. Data packs are a simple way to customize gameplay and work with vanilla, modded, and plugin-based servers.
You can browse and download data packs from popular sites like, Vanilla Tweaks CurseForge and Modrinth.
Locating the Datapacks Folders
Log in to your SimpleGameHosting Control Panel and select the server you want to manage. If you only have one server, you'll be taken directly to the Console tab.
1. Click the Stop button on your Console to shut down the server.
2. Once the server is stopped, click the File Manager tab at the top to access your server files.
3. Open the world folder.
4. Within your world folder, there will be a datapacks folder. Open this folder by clicking on it.
Uploading your Datapack
🛑Stop: Before uploading a Datapack, check that it matches your server version by visiting the Datapack’s homepage and downloading the correct version for your setup.
1. To upload your datapack, the method depends on its file size.
- For files under 300MB, you can either drag and drop the .zip into the appropriate folder using the File Manager or click the Upload button to select it.
- If your file is over 300MB, use SFTP to upload it. The Upload button won't work for files that large and will show an error.
2. Once you have the file uploaded, your data pack is now installed on the server!
3. Go back to the Console tab at the top and click the Start button on your server. Your server will then turn back on with the data packs installed!
👋Tip: You can check the console during server startup to verify that the datapacks loaded correctly.
